Prior to retirement in 2015, Keiren has held various positions with the NSGEU for over 22 years and was appointed to the position of Executive Director in 2009. Keiren was employed during the previous 17 years as a Public Health Inspector/Supervisor in the Department of Health. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University and a Certificate in Public Health Inspection from Ryerson University.
Prior to his appointment to the Public Service Superannuation Trustee Inc. in 2013, Keiren represented the NSGEU on the Public Service Pension Advisory Committee and the Plan Governance Working Group. From 2006-12 he was the NSGEU appointee on the Health Association of Nova Scotia Pension Review Committee and presently is the NSGEU sponsor representative on the Nova Scotia Health Employees’ Pension Plan (NSHEPP).
